Free drum kit samples!

Recorded at Warren Street Studio, the samples are provided in three different packs, close mic’ed, room ambience and mixed. You can find them here, all in 44.1kHz/24bit stereo AIFF. Oh, and they’re excellent by the way. Say thank you!

A guide to all things electronica

Ishkur’s guide to electronic music has been around for some time now, and the link passed down in boards and emails but maybe someone hasn’t stumbled upon it yet. I love the last version of the site, sure it could have been more exhaustive and not every last offshoot and trend in every genre is represented, but honestly i believe it’s better like this, after all it’s not like ‘illbient’ means something to everybody, and what about ’shit-hop’

Free samples from Goldbaby

Goldbaby is probably one of the hottest names in the sampling scene right now, offering mostly smallish sets that address very specific needs. Yeah, everybody’s got plenty of 808 samples but theirs is recorded to vintage tape, or sampled through the venerable mpc60’s converters. In fact analog tape saturation and vintage sampler crunch are among the most sought after effects nowadays, probably also due to the lack of a real alternative in the digital world. Excellent quality, distinctive sound, nice price, variety of formats: it doesn’t get much better than this when buying samples i’m afraid.

Their free download page is just the icing on the cake.
